“Blues Maker” is a film about blues legend Fred McDowell, was produced for the University of Mississippi by Christian Garrison. In the nearly fourteen minute production, McDowell is featured singing and playing the slide guitar with a real bottleneck. The tone for this film is set with a lot of vintage footage of rural southern life. There are some brief snatches of conversation but mostly viewers receive only the unfiltered blues. Includes scenes of the area which helped to shape his country blues.
