Notes From An Unborn Daughter

Daddy why your bed

set in a different

time-zone

doesn’t talk to mom’s?

why does mom wear loose

and balloon dresses,

forget to comb her hair?

My friend says-

Winter is our house pet.

That day she let me smoke her joint,

and all I saw is your bed

sailing across the north sea

towards the delta of mom’s.

So near, so far.

So fair, so silent.

I turn, step back from my ears on the door,

but your door remains open.
