Brixton’s Sisters Of Reggae – the UK’s first all-female reggae DJ collective celebrated in promo video
– January 30, 2018Posted in: Brixton venues, Features, News
We’re big fans of the Sisters of Reggae, an all-female DJ collective who have been playing around Brixton since 2016, and they’ve just released a video telling their story.
Founded in 2016 by Lucky Cat Zoë, Sisters of Reggae are five record collectors and selectors playing Rocksteady to Revival, Jamaican Oldies, Ska, Roots, Rockers, Dub and Early Digital Reggae.
DJs Lucky Cat Zoë, Debbie Golt, Miss Feelgood, Naoko The Rock and Sweetie have supported some of the biggest names in Reggae, including U-Roy, Marla Brown, Soom T, David Rodigan, Bitty McLean, Christopher Ellis, The Hempolics, Channel One, Aba Shanti I, Max Romeo, Dubkasm, Axis Sound System and many more.
You can catch Sisters of Reggae at their monthly residency at the Queens Head in Brixton on the last Saturday of the month, and they always play 100% old school vinyl.
