Trompe L’oeil

For centuries we have been led to believe that Jesus had 12 male Disciples. Could Leonardo Da Vinci have been hiding a secret in plain sight, here in his painting The Last Supper, that three of them were actually women? Whatever your beliefs, or non-beliefs, would the course of human history have been drastically different if we had been allowed to believe in women as spiritual leaders who played an important and significant role in Jesus’ teachings? Is this a great deception?
