Vinyl Memories

About the show

Playing tracks by

The Prince, CHANGES, Wild World, Nice People, One Day You’ll Know and more.

This is a recording of the project I developed – Vinyl Memories – which featured at last year’s Herne Bay Giant Picnic. I advertised for people to bring their old vinyl (78,45 or 33) for Douglas Noble and I to play on the Wheely Groovy pedal powered sound machine (this is a bicycle sound system run by Douglas Noble and Dave Robert). We played the tunes while the public pedalled away to generate the electricity to power the deck. All the tunes were recorded and I interviewed contributors so that they could share their vinyl memories. Here are the results. Hope you enjoy listening, it was a great day.

    1. What a lovely presentation, it cheered me up whilst working on a difficult project, more power to your pedals. Thank you.
