In this footage, captured by PETA US on an Argentinian wool farm, farmers cut lambs’ tails off without any pain relief. Shearers didn’t give sheep any painkillers before pushing needles through their flesh in an attempt to sew up gaping wounds caused by shearing.
After seeing this footage, a leading wool supplier cut all ties with the farm. And the exposé comes just months after PETA US revealed abuse of sheep on so-called “sustainable wool” farms in the Ovis 21 network in Argentina, causing Stella McCartney and Patagonia to stop buying from the network.
