Searching for light in the darkness of insanity

Searching-for-light-in-the-darkness-of-insanity-lo-res

there is no balance

equilibrium no longer thinks

before it speaks

a family gets interrogated

because their child told a teacher

they lived in a terrorist house

terraced freedom fighter

semantic ghosts convalesce

retreat

cut off their foot

to shoot spite in our face

Circles and cycles

of viciousness

take issue

better to fight

a losing battle than

lose a fighting one

with ground troops or

aerial combat

things over-complicate

to this point of simplicity

translate into politics

language cosies up to the victors

symbols make curious bedfellows

with the raw materials they name

and create

the antithesis of art

what’s so funny ‘bout peace love and understanding

i ask myself as the first Elvis

but no late punk or early rock and roll

can make sounds that make sense

of any of this
