Time
Spring
I dream of Dragons
The fiery breath of spring plants
Coloured
Livid
Surfacing through the earth
Heavy church drapes of damp
Earth
Splitting
Opening
Clawing toward the Sun
Where below
In a life fearful of winter ice
And shrouds of snow
Sheltered in the bulb
Waiting for warmth to call
Laying dormant
Ready for the seasons knock
I have new thoughts
For the year
Spring months will peel them away
And I will
Stretch out and feel free
Touch
The crumpled earthy manuscript of hope
On which
Are written the answers
Maybe
For the future
A script of what will be?
Dazed with light
Fusing dream and reality
Like a frenzied clockwork toy on the
Windowsill clacking
The paper airplane bucking in a storm
The kiss I dreamt about
Flying by on the wings of a butterfly
The secret language of a river
Whispered at the meet with sea
All that is awakening
Like the Spring
Flushed cheeks of tomorrow pinched red
Abandoning the cold
Telling all
