I saw rain driving down
Partitioned by a rainbow
As if it were in fancy dress
Soaked up by hills
That became climate sponges…
Forests that were like bristles of Hairbrush tugging through wet hair.
As the sun lit up the pages of my
Love letter
An Epiphany of light
Desire
Ready to send
I gave the orphan words a home
On paper
Trailing from this empty heart..
Words shuffling forward in a queue for the page
What a responsibility you carry to
Be a messenger for all
Felt and now perhaps lost
In the matrix of a heavy coat
With a collar that clamps
A weary head to my shoulders.
A body
Tired and broken
Hoping now that all will change
Heads out into the night.
