You know every move that I
keep secret in the
dark, I want to take all of you-
the hush, the whisper
the half-lit face, the burnt-out
shadow of your name.
I misplace my words, shed themselves
into glacial moraines,
I walk around the riverside in search
of your ashes, your lost voice
ringing beneath the water,
I want to bite the syllables of night.
Walking on a tightrope, I am holding
you far too long,
as it happens, like leaves float down
a gush of wind snap
it and blows you out of my sight
while time continues to march by.
