Hunt of the Darling Flies

Werewolves in the cratered moon,
chomping at limbs
you leave hanging out
to weathervane tilt,
fresh back from signal caller space
and already scratching daddy’s
favourite records, culling the coop
of bothersome chickens, such a help
around the house, that’s what dreary
momma used to always say;
thumbs of a hitchhiker on that hunt
of the darling flies, new work for the
paint job man, snakes chasing
wedding band tails, and it’s swatters
from the censor,
someone is making a movie:
maybe a Gill-man or two
from the angry ass
of the sea.
