race down the road
like Saul into Paul,
it’s momentary bliss
with the changing of the leaves,
that bedroom friend that curls
into you without a name,
cheap tobacco on her breath
and those promises
no one keeps.
Ryan Quinn Flanagan is a Canadian-born author who lives in Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada with his wife and many bears that rifle through his garbage.
