It is the accord of authoritarianism. Not like
mathematics, or true love. And ‘I don’t’ would seem to
be a linguistic gamechanger. If a rhyme concurs in the
realm of sound, it seems more liberal – though twee –
compared with the plural/singular black hole of
‘agreement’. As with the semantics of doffing one’s cap,
removal or a gentle touch concur in their courteous
gesture: let’s not be fascists about this.
