Reverse Brakes

They wanted us to try out a rollator with reverse
brakes – not that I understood what these were –
but I know it wasn’t a cure. When I invent that
simple way of opening internal doors, the physio
said I would be a millionaire.  Inclines spook her
these days, a ghost of the irony walking used to be.
Piggyback up the stairs; cradled in my arms. The
wind was so strong today she flew into the air,
jacket billowing, and perambulated for miles.
