The politicians
plot
on how to make each sunset
a pay-per-view
event. One suggests
nationwide home
arrests, with temporary releases
once the fee has been paid
at least one week in advance. Another, locked
blindfolds. The third, a liberal, is silent,
outnumbered.
The fourth, a neo-Nazi,
believes, fervently,
that the privilege
of seeing a sunset should only be offered
to white people of one of the few
approved religions, or agnostics, or atheists,
and everyone else should be locked into blinkers
controlled by the state, blinkers
that become blindfoldlike
an hour before sunsets
and unlock an hour afterwards.
