Sutures

The universe I know thus far is filling
up with the cosmic dust.

The air still blows over the city, unlike therapy
it brings darkness in the spine.

The moon leaks into shadows and
excites the frayed nerves.

Silver night recreates the familiar at the
stillness’s fragile edge.

If your life is burning, save my words
in the shape of volcanic ashes.

Through the slanted rays, the dawn
turns them to the furry petals.

I move closer, I stay numbed,
like scribbled sutures.
