The moments mirror cannot mirror

You step inside the mirror, fresh, smiling, grey sideburns

music playing on phone; soon it changes into a heavy fog,

you

wander off in that dim region of undulating paths and bridges,

outlined against a shivering curtain of blankness,

a ghost

shrouded by the grey cloak; mingling with insubstantial shadows.

Few minutes later, you step out of the same mirror

only to stare back at a reflection in that foggy mirror,

a stranger, hollow-cheeked, empty-eyed,

looking back, as the bell rings.
