The Winding Path

.

We walk along the winding path
Bright sun is watching from above
Then we stop beside the stream
Holding hands, side by side, in love

It’s time for me and you to know
The sun it rises, and always falls
Embrace me in your arms right now
Crows, they shriek, the magpie calls

Clouds reach over; cold, sun retreats
I must go; our love to be what is
A longing kiss, our fleeting touch
Two paths one journey, joy like this

And as this wonder fades for me
I treasure you still, my friend
Although all seasons change
Our hearts remain entwined

Now I walk this trail alone
Drowsy, wan, so make a sigh
It dances, fetters, mists my eyes
Goodbye my love, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
