Giving My Best

Feb 21, 2026
Giving My Best was written by Sam Burcher when she lived in Camden Town, London. It’s a song of hope and recovery, of seeing the full spectrum of life’s glorious tapestry.. The track was engineered and produced by Andrew Watton with additional acoustic guitar by the wonderful Alistair Artingstall. The video was created by Andrew Watton with encouraging assistance by Sam Burcher. We hope you enjoy!

Giving my Best,  Sam Burcher

I take one day at a time
I take it all in my stride
I’ll always want to be here
Sometimes I want to shine

Shaking down my long hair
Always one to care
Never let what’s worth having go
Try to take it slow

What I want is what I give
The life I have I’ve got to live
No-one treats me second best
Grace is here forgive the rest

Man oh man I don’t have to rescue
No cracked walls I’ve got a break through
Lovely mind will always make do
I’m giving my best

I watch the sunset every night
I‘ve seen the darkness and the light
I know fear distorts the mind
I’m looking out I surely find

Someone who wants be here
Really needs to care
Who never let what’s worth having go
Try to take it slow oh
Try to take it oh so slow

What I want is what I give
The life I have I’ve got to live
No-one treats me second best
Grace is here forgive the rest

Man oh man I don’t have to rescue
No cracked walls I’ve got a break through
Lovely mind will always make do
I’m giving my best

I watch the sunset every night
I watch the sunset every night
I’m giving,  give, give, give, giving my best
Giving my best to you.
