questers  for  Rose  and  her  Crown

we  three
Lucy  Maria  and  me
not  much  money

we  have  ambition
a  mission

Lucy  smiles
her  quiet  smile
taps  keys
with  a
purple  nail

Maria  rides
her  white  bike
like a whirlwind
her  dark  curls
trail

below  the  castle
we find the canal
toss our machines
into a  nettlebed

horse  dung
on cobbles
tow ropes
creak

cool  dark  room
low ceiling

up  stumps  Rose
from  the  cellar

fills  each  mug
froth trickles
down the sides

slams down
the enamel jug

farthings
on a slate

we have found
the pub with no bar
