The Muse of Freedom

Liberty breathes
in the open sky
the vigilant sun scrutinizes
the mischievous clouds
and the wind nurses
the ailing season
crying in the shadow of
gloomy night.

The muse of freedom
like a fledgling’s slumber
musing and dreaming
under the wings
of the mother
sitting in the shade of
a chastened space.
