Beyond the Horizon

Fine grains of sand trickled through my fingers
Scattered in the wind, but memory lingers
Seagulls circled, called by the breaking waves
Castles built long ago, with buckets and spades
Beyond the horizon, where dreams are made

Will it last? Will it last?  Stay!  Let it stay.
The fortress held before it’s washed away
This brief moment, a picture postcard found
Looking out together, no words, no sound
Beyond the horizon, where dreams are made

Once I was younger, the path easy to behold
The road stretched forever; wonders to unfold
Let me share these stories before I am undone
Two of us rejoice for memories we have won
Beyond the horizon, where dreams are made
