All young lovers look up at the stars
And as stars glisten in their eyes,
It proves their transcendent notion
That they’re living in paradise.
They fly and they float in a faultless euphoria –
‘My love’s deeper than the deepest ocean!’
‘Mine’s bigger than the universe – the mega-verse!’ –
In a love-dance echoing particles in motion.
Their mingling bodies give off a charge –
Electric exchanges of wonder –
As a kiss’s bliss stretches time, they dream
Of their happy state lasting forever…
And it can do, for such love leaves an afterglow
Which comes coupled with the intimation
That, when life itself is the lovers’ love-object,
Heaven on earth becomes their aspiration.
