He Said
He Said was the name used by Wire member Graham Lewis for his solo releases in the 1980s. The first He Said release was Hail, which was released in 1986 on Mute Records. The music on Hail was more electronic than Wire’s work, representing the natural progression that much post-punk and experimental music was taking at the time.
COULD YOU?
Was there something on your mind?
Had your world fallen apart?
Had you a glint in your eye?
Had you murder in your heart?
Put a finger on a problem
Did your temper boil?
Did you melt down?
Did your blood blood run cold?
Did you do it for love?
Did you do it for free?
Did you do it because no one notices?
You had a tool in your hand
Dragged the other through your hair
You washed the print from your fingers
Dried the stains on your clothes
Washed the sound from your ears
Blew the smell from your nose
Wiped the smirks from their faces
You were straightening smiles
Did you do it for love?
Did you do it for free?
Did you do it because no one notices?
You might also like
Buried in a forest
Hid beneath a hedge
I saw you at the window
I saw you fall from the ledge
You said you did it for love
You did it for free
You did it because no one notices me
Did you do it for love?
Did you do it for free?
Did you do it because no one notices?
