Schrödinger’s cat

Under the bed sits a pair of boots

designed for climbing the wall.

In the wardrobe twelve pairs of mittens

hide twelve pairs of kittens.

In the sink a ship sails looking for a

wedding dress.

Mother cat stands, paw poised, on the draining board.

Those in the ship cry for mercy.

The kittens, hungry for dinner,

claw the wallpaper.

They know that beneath its flowered pattern,

is another world waiting to happen.
