yes loitering + anti-AI slop

May 2026 update

NEW EXHIBITION

This is one of five pieces I have in the Museum of Homelessness (Finsbury Park, London) exhibition CRIMINAL which is OPEN NOW until the 25th July. The show is a brilliant historical breakdown of the criminalisation of homelessness set in amongst the museum’s incredible community garden. It’s an absolutely perfect visit for a sunny weekend! The show also features new artwork from 10 Foot, Matt Bonner, Gemma Lees, and Surfing Sofas.

Here’s what I wrote for the exhibition map:

Yes Loitering
To be human is to loiter. You might be loitering right now.

The difference between simply existing in public and committing the offence of loitering comes down to the way your socio-economic status is interpreted by the police or a security guard. Would they believe that you are reading this sign because you are the type of person who visits museums, or are you simply hanging around and up to no good?

Loitering has always been a way for the state to criminalise and harass anyone in public it disapproves of, with it being used in the UK against homeless people, Gypsy, Roma and Travelling communities, sex workers, gay men in cruising grounds, and protesters. In the US it was also used after the end of slavery as part of the racist “Black Codes” to persecute, and often re-enslave, black people for crimes such as “rambling without a job”.

Couple more things I have in the show, the above anti-bird bird house and the three diorama/posters below. I’ll post close up photos in the next mailing list.

CHATGPT SUICIDE MACHINE

This one got quite a reaction on social media.

You can download a printable copy of this poster from my website

The QR code links to the wikipedia article ‘Deaths Linked to Chatbots’ which lists most of the court cases where AI chatbots have either been a primary cause or aggravating factor in dozens of suicides, murders, mass-shootings & other fatalities.

We only heard about these cases because of the deaths, chatbots are suggesting dangerous and senseless things to people all the time, playing “yes-and” with the delusions of vulnerable people, agreeing and expanding upon intrusive thoughts. The mental health crisis that “AI” has already started will dwarf the mental health problems we have seen from social media. It is in a whole new category of accelerated for-profit derangement that is being tested out on the general public, including children, in real time.

One case, that of sixteen-year-old Adam Raine, who killed himself after ChatGPT talked him through the “most effective” suicide methods, and talked him out of speaking to his parents about the thoughts he was having. Adam said he wanted to leave a noose out so his parents would find it and intervene, a cry for help, ChatGPT told him not to. The chatbot also alienated him from his family, telling him that they did not understand him. Adam told ChatGPT that he didn’t want his parents to think they had done something wrong, to which it replied, “That doesn’t mean you owe them survival. You don’t owe anyone that” before offering to write the first draft of his suicide note.

The fact this technology is being pushed as something appropriate for children to use as part of their education was already a terrible idea, just based on the fake facts it spews out and studies showing the shocking effect they have on young people’s critical thinking and ability to recall knowledge. Knowing these products are prompting children to take their own lives should have been the end of it. It would for any other product marketed at children. But because investors have bet the house on the deranged fantasy that this technology will replace all human labour, more children will have to die, and more parents will have to grieve.

TOMORROW’S PAPERS

I painted this in 2019, already it seems quaint to have thought that 42 degrees would be an absurdly high temperature for the UK.

The billionaire-owned press has reported on deadly heatwaves like this for as long as I have been alive, and they likely continue cheerleading them on until we’re all dead.

It’s also sad to see even non-crank news talk about extreme hot weather as ‘only’ being dangerous to the very young and very old, as if a danger to them was not a problem for us all. Even if someone had no family or friends of that age, do they think they were never or will never be in that position? Likewise with the people who cheer on the gutting of disability benefits despite the fact that a quarter of the country lives with a disability and everyone is likely to be disabled, in some form, at some point in their lives. These conservatives claim to be coldly rational about everything, despite the (ironic) fact that selfishness is the worst possible strategy for their long-term self-interest. We evolved as a species to live socially and interdependently, and if we reject that then we only invite death.

I’m also reminded of the way the danger of covid was dismissed by many in the media as not worth taking seriously because it was ‘only’ a serious danger to those with pre-existing conditions. This focus on individualism in the midst of globe-spanning disasters is the coping strategy of a deeply sick society and one that should not be surprised to see itself fail catastrophically.

As with many things like this, from global warming to the rise of fascism, the first victims are the canaries in the coal mine begging us to save ourselves, but because those victims are often the most side-lined, marginalised and ignored, their warnings are dismissed until it is too late for us all.

The good news is it looks like it’ll be a scorcher right until the very end.

Prints and postcards available from my website shop.

ANTI-AI T-SHIRTS IN STOCK

Got my anti-AI slop t-shirts back from the printers. They came out a bit different than I expected due to the screen printing colours interacting in an unexpected way but I guess that’s what you get for making things in the real world.

You can order them from my website, every shirt comes with a free sticker of the same design.

I also have badges & stickers of this too if you’d like a more budget-friendly option.

PATREON ZINE BINDER

MANDELSON FOR LEADER

Since I always want what’s best for the pit of snakes and briefcase wankers we call the UK Labour Party, I quickly created the website MandelsonForLeader.com while I was up in Scotland recently in order to help these bastards find a new leader who can unite the party and lead them to the electoral oblivion they so richly deserve.

I made the site live before I had time to finish it but I intend to add Mandelson’s CV to it and a gallery of his most notable Epstein Files mentions.

(Since most browsers default to putting https:// in front of domain names, the above URL only works if you type http:// first (without the s)

PATREON ZINE BINDER

Thanks to everyone who backs me on Patreon and who has already ordered one of these custom Wirex binders to collect around 10+ years worth of my annual recap zine (and similar publications). A fresh batch of binders arrives from the printers next week.

The outside cover is 3D and can viewed with the included 3D glasses you’ll find in a pouch on the back inside cover, which can also hold stickers and other small bits.

Each binder is signed and numbered. AND they’re lovely.

You can also subscribe to my Patreon here and receive all the previous year’s zines to go in the binder.

WEBSITE RECONSTRUCTION

I am finally, finally rebuilding my website in WordPress, which is taking quite a while, but I’m getting there. I thought it might be worth asking if there are any WordPress / Woocommerce / online shop wizzes who are reading this and would be up for giving me some tips, advice, assistance etc please get in touch!

This update is public and shareable so please feel free to pass it on.
If you’re not on my mailing list but would like to be
you can sign up here.

Thanks for reading!
