Once upon a time in Rome
Our feast was prepared in 3 vessels –
Poetry & Worship & Ethical Philosophy
These arriviste Christians they
Baked them into Cake-o-Fusion –
So ever since the Western mind
Struggles to sort and discriminate
While each ingredient adheres
Dependently on all others
Christians no longer semi-pagan
Brought not peace but a Moulinex
Slaves to their galley-kitchen
Next I blame The Greeks because
They set aside the toga
To flaunt their synthesis –
An outsize shirt
Cinched at the waist with a string –
How can such a sack of olives
Reason and act like a Roman?
