Climatic Confusion

The golden sphere spins out of control,

flings off rainbows and crystalline showers

people walk under umbrellas

shading their eyes and pulling trees out of the ground

confusedly thinking they had something to do with the spectacle,

but the bare roots resist

blackening the skies with outrage

obscuring the rainbows and turning the showers to dust.
