Distasteful Poem

Most of my friends turn their eyes away from anyone unpleasant
You can’t blame them Anyone who likes to look at anything distasteful
is almost certainly distasteful themselves I sit quietly in the church pew
and try to remember what it was we were taught in Bible Class
I think it was to harass the hell out of those you don’t like and take
what you can when you can and keep it close by your side I admit
I wasn’t really listening very closely and might have got the wrong end
of the stick It doesn’t matter I’ll just do whatever my holy friends do
