Holy Man

I listened to the words found on your long road
And felt safe with your stories that I keep within
Tenderness, holding hands for our heavy load
Blessings remembered, shared with kith and kin

Another story told, another mark along your path
My likeness, a child looking up to mum and dad
To keep me on the pilgrim’s way without wrath
To have and hold, give succour those who’re sad

Travelling through the ages, I’ll follow you too
My life? Take me with you, carry me regardless
There’re many lessons and scriptures, lots to do
Not to worry if there’s some things I must confess

You give me confidence; I’m not still in the dark
We come together and can build our Noah’s Ark
