Two men (pencils poised and ready)
Argue art’s intensities while a third,
Bored and vaguely pissed tries
Backpedalling through his memories
To see if he can isolate that one wrong
Choice that soured his life while a
Woman, print dress, tangled hair,
Too much blusher Takes your partners
With a dying tree, sashays in rhyme
With its guttering leaves as she thinks
On her boy drafted six months ago
Who came home in a box just last week.
