2024 will mark the 3rd annual Newcastle Ewan Brown Anarchist Bookfair, an event celebrating the life of Ewan* and the radical past, present and future of the North-East.
On Saturday 1st June we will open the doors to another fine year of stalls, workshops and live events.
We will once again be hosted in the fabulous Star and Shadow Cinema in the east of the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
The bookfair is ran by a group of volunteers using funding from donations and stalls. We try to make this event as accessible as we can so anyone could enjoy. Children & young people’s activities will ran throughout the day.

* Ewan Brown was a comrade and friend whose art, music and words inspired those in the north east and further afield and furthered the cause of a world worth striving for.
The event celebrated Ewan’s interests, as well as bringing together many groups from the region and the UK.
