Owl

I see at night
do not see during the day

After dinner a spell of sound sleep
Then my ribs chat with
the shards of the bed

The unseen faces of day
come wafting one by one

In bed I toss and turn
and do not get sleep
always

In all twelve months I hoot
in more than a dozen voices

Someone says it brings happiness
Someone else says it brings sorrow
