Republican Conference

Republic has just confirmed Joan Smith as our guest speaker for the 2012 Republic Annual Conference on Saturday June 30.Full details of the conference are on the website at www.republic.org.uk/events.  The annual conference is open to members and non-members.Places are FREE but you need to reserve a seat by sending me an email at [email protected].After a successful jubilee campaign which has seen our supporter numbers soar we’ve decided to make activism and campaigning the focus of this year’s conference. We’ll be discussing the reforms we are campaigning for as well as hearing from a number of activists and volunteers about the work they’ve been doing on the campaign.Issues covered will include:

  • A future republic and the process of transition
  • Local activism, building the movement around the country
  • Republic Wales and campaigning in the devolved nations
  • Political lobbying and building support within the parties

Joan Smith – who spoke recently at our jubilee protest and at the Bishopsgate Institute debate – will be our guest speaker.  Joan is a journalist, author and a committed republican who has turned down on OBE because of her opposition to the monarchy.

If you want to get more involved in the campaign – whether locally or at the national level – or simply hear more about the issues and the campaign, book your place today.

To reserve a place send an email to [email protected].

Thank you for your support.

All the best
