The American Embassy

Oh! To be locked up in a building

With shiftless faces

Who serve those who think

That they rule the world!

And yet! The toilets in

The building were so pretty-

I wish I could’ve kept

My “green card” just so that

I could flash it in passing by

And enter the embassy quickly,

Use one of these ‘de luxe’ blue toilets

At times when I happen to be in a hurry

At times when I am in this ‘Concord’ area

To which Concordia has turned her back,

Ruined the old French-American friendship

And left for more spacious fields…
