There’s a fallen ice cube melting at the door.
It is doing just what it has to do with its little life.
It is weeping away to water.
It is such a pretty ice cube
in its sunshine pinafore
a skating girl in her blowing skirt and jeweled drift,
turning on the floor into an Atlantic wonder.
