A Garden

Take a walk through a garden with me

To the greenhouse, the swing and the old oak tree

The barbeque, bee hive and raspberry patch

To the crooked wooden gate and it’s weather-worn latch

Old tennis balls and wind wrecked wooden fences

Bright blue pellets, garden defences

Overcut grass, lavender disguised as sage

Picking tomatoes, cutting chives for egg mayonnaise

Cats mocking dogs whilst squirrels scurry away

The birds fly off when the fox cubs play
