COLORLESS

 

imagine if you can
an empty crayon box
once laden with 
primary colors
ones associated with
stark naked winter trees 
&
miscellaneous rural Appalachia 
Coal Miner Black
Rusty Mailbox Brown
Trailer Park Gray

yet there is that old car
engine replaced and rebuilt 
so many times
parts harvested from
totaled vehicles 
doors jury rigged from 
abandoned sedans to subcompacts 
nobody knows make or model
bondo’d endless years
spray painted so many times & shades
there isn’t even a name for its color
