from Songs of the Revolution

99

hang tenderness up in your window brazenly like a curtain
to keep your thoughts from being subject to the ranks

go within yourself to enjoy the life of your tongue
     inside your own physique
when you are dreaming open the door and
      walk into the world

go to sleep in order to waken your dreams
let the spectrum take over be multiple

wag your mind in the metro to undo the crimes of november
stretch your legs next to the youth beside you

and for the fear laden mighty with their laws and
   prohibitions and errors
offer a basket of tranquil inventions and some
   gently naked fingers

this is my advice
to the generation which follows the beat and the hip and the best
to be the soft generation
