The Gale And The Chair

The tree of thoughts flowers today.
An overcast day brings out its best.

This chair looks bare, but sit here and see
the birds hurry in the silent melee
before the gale hits. Today,

you remember, is our anniversary,
and that we need to avail this room
to tool out the moment, and its possibilities.

The leaves swirl around the chair
and govern to lift it up from the floor.
A bit, for one moment, and no more.

In the firmament the sun looks puny,
agile, almost like a child on a wall
low enough to make it feel secure,
and high enough to make it giddy.
