the big wheel
lights
littered
through
your swirling hair
as
we span
perihelion
through the fair
the night
glis’ened through your eyes
lizard crept
sparkling
across your golden skin
laughing
you blur
as we spin
touch
was as if
to long
and to yearn
it burnt
flash
the whirligig exploded
time intercepted
eyelashes extended
catching stardust
your eyes
in each galaxy
shone
touched the curve
of your form
in the darkness
was born
disappeared
between shadows
and whispers
love
one
***********
and the screams and the
cries
mocked the cardboard
clock spies
erected
by lies
in the sawdust of pride
come home
to the sea
as your breath
fanned the flame
of the tears
that were shed
set me free
**************
but the lie
playing statues
enacted
inside
*************
a frieze
in miniature
dolls-house static
carbon resemblances
domestic discordiance
skin now cotton
jackets and dresses of
thickly sewn tweed
eyes of balled thread
hair of stupid
wool
hollow laughter
limbs of silent
benumbment
new toys
confuse the
tableau
musical chairs
pre-scripted
bespoke
scenes from above
each part
played cold
inevitable dénouement
lego breakfast
cornflakes of
neglect
spilt-milk tragedy
tables and chairs
mute anger
watch blindly
as the endgame
ensues
*************
no more
can our hearts
take this pain
thus we part
beheld
what
we hold
we then became old
and the sounds
of the fair
were distant
then gone
****************
the big wheel
lights
cycle
a litany
through
your I don’t care
we spin
ap-helion
away
from the fayre
****************
somewhere between
inside the blood pumping
the feeling
the passion
the sex
a vertex
a defining point
of
meaninglessness
***************
in the dark
lost
no light to soothe
this troubled soul
a star lit up
the cosmos
suicidal face
pressed
against the wall
broken broken broken
heart
something called from deep without
within
this dimension
of the heart
beyond the pain
that’s calling
destroyed
broken heart saw
with innocent
broken eyes
humbled
a new day dawning
the birds sing
there is no thought
in
everything
wonder
nests
within me
what is this
wond’rous thing?
this life
we take for granted
that seems
to be
just here?
never questioning
the reality
this never happened before
to be in now
and wonder
drop all
personal
ideas
beside
for what is so
astonishing
is what’s outside’s
inside
*****************
sadness
crumpled my heart
why
why
were those that should be
not there?
in darkness
i cried
alone
face
against the wall
i cried
alone
**********
the cosmos
the cosmos
your heart
shimmered
lights in the sky
what am i?
what am i?
***********
dreams flittered
mocking
my normal purple brow
a collection
of scenes
distorted by
loss
guilt
shame
dragged my soul
drowning
softly crushing
my soul
to death
and that was where
from deep inside
the tears came from
*********
honesty
about not knowing
why does my heart feel so?
lantern
in the darkness
of my soul
now free
not freedom
just knowing
my tears caught
in your palms
you saw my pain
and somehow
that sets me free
************
through pain
i see
your beauty
and the grace of your
heart
like a rock and a flower
i can rest upon thee
grow by your side
then
as if
sylph like
you vanished
free
endowing
your beauty
everywhere
as the dandelion parachutes
reflect the spring sun
wind breathes
through
the grass
i feel the wave of enormity
and the miniscule grasp
saved inside terror
wonder
at last
your kindness
destroyed me
there is nothing
but love
**********************
once again
day
lives the night
Spirit breathes
through
your plight
***************
i span you
or did you spin me?
perhaps
the whirligig
did choose?
and in that moment
of pure love
there was only
self
to lose
question
question
question!
what is this soul
you feel
the more you
feel the question
the more
it be-comes
real
************
be merrie
‘fore
the darkness comes
and then
be merrie still
for when this time
hath folded up
time’s cup
shall still
be full
**************
fear not
the wheel
its fancies
and tortures
all in jest
’tis but a play
as one well knows
keep love
close
to
your
breast
***************
one is time
and two is self
and three
is but the other
and other
is reflection thus
the whirligig
of lovers
