Closed they are and silent – open (them) up and their contents spill, like muttering voices . . . louder, more defined – articulating, confabulating – the spoils of memory, the sometimes were, the almost would/will be. Pen run/s on – curious, cursive, in-between, scaling, sailing, sensing, sentencing – rooms, cities, paraphernalia, dust on the floor – war, hegemony, hearsay, heresy, heredity – souls and cities, pain and slander, the seldom heard of, the been before.
