
– If you could be one thing in the countryside what would it be?
– I’d be an electricity pylon.
– Seriously?
– Yes. I like to be a part of something, and I think it would be good to be a part of the National Grid.
– It’s an interesting choice.
– I would be playing an important role, contributing to the general well-being of society, helping to take electronic energy into the homes of millions.
– I have to say it strikes me as being somewhat out of character.
– Indeed. But since it’s never going to happen I thought I would take an imaginative leap into the darkness of the unknown, albeit briefly.
– Did you take your medication this morning?
– Ah, I knew there was something I’d forgotten . . .
