the pick-up truck passes by
and i note the large tailgate dent
imagine it backed into a wall or
pillar or perhaps a cement mixer
this damage a consequence of its
being (a rite-of-passage for
the day job) and not like those
sunk pension funds or the
sky-rocketing mortgages
or the poor who have been told
they are going to get poorer as
their/they’re damaged goods
