where is
the land of the free
and the home
of the brave
going now?
not to hell in a handcart…
in a tumbril more like
but let’s not crow
millions across the world
would join a firing squad
or tie a noose
given the chance
a lethal injection
is but the latest termination
to hasten our destination
in belief that a cruel act
is healed somehow
by infliction of another
so what have Christians
got to save about this?
or any other believers
in an after-life
come to that
