Lost in a moment

Lost in a moment, alone.  You’re not here!
A child, they cannot say, inside their distant tear

Do you think it right, despair, two simple words:
Come back, come back; tonight, on the wings of birds

Can I see your face, in this crowded room?
Comfort in this place, a wish, my brief gloom
There’s a gentle ping, a light in reverie
Sound to help me find, words you send to me

So quick, so quick, I’d thought you’d gone forever
Is loving, desperation gone?  Binding us, a tether
Hold hands outside the storm, alarm it did subside
Back together, near, warm, with you for the ride

Closer than I thought, your message you’ll remain
It was a sudden blink.  Inside our world again
