A headscarf twitches on the wire

I am very interested in how it got there,

like shoes of different sizes strewn across a field.

I am very interested in these states of man, unlike America.

A Toyota headlamp pops out with wires like a torn-out eye,

I am very interested in webs of smashed in windscreens

and how yellow dust of airbags spray like daffodils

blowing pollen into a human face, eyes open.

I am very interested in these things but do not say “genocide”

unless it is nine eleven or painted white like Van Gogh lilies.
