O’ rain little rain, little rain O’ rain!
I love to see you come from Heaven,
And fall over the plain.
The grass is thirsty,
Please show some mercy.
The pond is empty,
And the fishes are grumpy.
O’ rain heavy rain, heavy rain O’ rain!
Please supply water on this planet.
Without you nothing can remain.
O’ rain wet rain, wet rain O’ rain!
Kiss the longing maiden
Drench the forest’s grassy mane
Where dances the pining peacock
Quivering the covert feathers.
O’ rain monsoon rain, monsoon rain O’ rain!
Upon the parched land barren.
Cast your magic spell.
Relieve the poor farmer’s pain.
O’ rain rim jhim rain, rim jhim rain O’ rain!
Showers and showers of heavy rain,
Let not your drops go in vain.
