Given the tsunami of pornography these days is it right International Times Facebook site should be banned for 24 hours for featuring a stylish art illustration by the artist Victor Moscoso? An example of his work above. Arent our viewers intelligent enough to decide what is obscene and what isnt?
Not the first time it has happened, involving images of nudity on IT which has had the Facebook site shut down, amazing when compared to the current mind-programming trend for mindless and often violent images of women as commodities. It’s astounding they are applying one law to alternative media and another to the overwhelming deluge of pornography in magazines, tabloids, in films, in the mainstream and on the internet. Is it an underhand deal to make appreciation of the beauty of the female form applicable to crime? To destroy natural sensuality? Which is what so much of true art is about?
Sign of our hypocritical times.
Amen

Comment by Nick Dunne on 9 November, 2014 at 3:48 pmIT being put on the naughty step by Facebook (yet again for a laughably trifling offence) may not be a big deal but its a salient point that we’d probably get away with featuring pornographic current pop videos which get masses of exposure on social media, often with violent and obscene content, objectifying women in accord with a sinister and controlling agenda that has nothing to do with freedom or emancipation, for women or humanity in general. Therefore the hypocrisy and all pervading malaise in our society and media is most certainly a big deal and worth comment.
