Fred Locks
In ‘No To Racism’ legendary Jamaican singer Fred Locks collaborates with Austrian producer and saxophonist Sabolious. In the context of recent global incidents of racial discrimination, the lyrics are in tune with the times and yet timeless. Musically, it is a dub production strongly affected by the steppers style. The collaboration’s final result is an EP-release via Anaves Music with 6 songs, including saxophone and dub versions of the title track.
NO TO RACISM
Whoa oh whoa oh whoa, yeah yeh yah, yeah yeh yah
If love is god and god is love
Be wiser than a serpent and harmless as a dove
I demand unification of the human race
To spread sweet joy all over the place
I say no to racism
And yes to decent living
I say no to hate and prejudice
And yes to equal rights and justice
The black man’s blood is not black
The white man’s blood is not white
Chinese and Indians – one blood, hey!
Although the color of our skin is not the same
Red blood runs through every man’s vein
I said no to racism
I said yes to decent living
I said no to hate and prejudice
And yes to equal rights and justice
No race is superior, no oh oh
And no race should be inferior
Equal rights and justice for one and all, yeh ah
United we stand, divided we fall
So, I said no to racism
And yes to decent living
I said no to hate and prejudice
And yes to equal rights and justice, yeah eh
If god is love and love is god
Be wiser than a serpent and harmless as a dove
I demand unification of the human race
To spread sweet joy all over the place
I said no to racism
And yes to decent living
I said no to hate and prejudice
And yes to equal rights and justice
Fred Locks say that
